Sarah’s wedding cake…

So I made Sarah’s wedding cake last weekend and I think it came out good. I was up until 5 am making it Saturday morning – ok, more like cleaning from 4-5 – but still :P Everybody loved the cake, especially the little cake topper I made for them. The layers were turtle cake, vanilla with blue chippits, and chocolate oreo filled. My only regret with the cake is that the frosting wasn’t 100% awesome. I forgot to add some cream to smooth it out, but people still liked it so I guess it’s ok :P


 

Kick-boxing?!

Yup! I’m going to try kick-boxing tonight. I think I have a general idea of what it’ll be. I’m thinking kind of like the cardio kick-boxing in P90X. Either way, I’m pumped. I also set up a schedule for my workouts! One each day:

Monday: Kick-boxing or Aquafit

Tuesday: Zumba

Wednesday: Power

Thursday: Zumba or Step Attack

Friday: Aquafit

Saturday: Step

Sunday is my day off, for now at least. I might still go for a walk. Oh, I also walk every Tuesday and Thursday with my mom to get her up and moving. Let’s hope spring and summer get here soon! I have a lot of things I want to do this summer :D

Crazy eh? I was in my friend’s wedding yesterday and I noticed that the dress from my brother’s wedding two years ago was also strapless. The comparison is just plain crazy! Can’t wait to add another panel to this picture of 100 lbs off! :P

Support in a strange place…

I’ve used MFP (or myfitnesspal.com) since last year and that’s where/how I lost roughly 30 lbs. Using that website and doing P90X was a great combination that helped me get through the first hurdle. I never really got into the forums though – I just used it to log my own food and went about my business. Well today I decided I wanted a bit of support – you know, some people I could share in my annoyances or success with my workouts and nutrition. I actually added some random people (mostly women my age) and even in the last few hours it’s changed the way I use the site altogether. It’s so much more supportive when you have people going through the same stuff cheering you on. It’s really made a big difference and I can see how having a few friends on the website will help push me towards the next 50lb goal :)

Well ok, I don’t hate it – I actually like it quite a bit. I just haven’t gotten around to asking a trainer at the YMCA to show me the new machines >.< I’m a little intimidated to go over and try them myself since the Y has all sort of people there all the time. I really should just bite the bullet and get a trainer to help me. The only way to increase my toning is with weights and I just need to start.

I remember when I was doing P90X last year. I really loved the weight sessions. My problem is that I need to figure out a routine to do so I can just plop it into my gym routine. Maybe I’ll just make an appointment next week after the wedding this weekend… hmmm…
